Edward A. Villanueva Principal Partner / Certified Public Accountant / Personal Financial Specialist
Edward A. Villanueva graduated with honors from Arizona State University in 1968 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Ed became a certified public accountant in 1969, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Arizona State Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). Ed holds the Personal Financial Specialist designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Ed has actively served the ASCPA and the community in a number of positions. He was Chairman of the Arizona Tax Liaison Committee for the Arizona State Society; President of the Arizona Educational Foundation; President of the Phoenix Day Nursery; Treasurer of the Arizona Zoological Society; President of the Arizona State University Accounting Circle; and Treasurer of the Friends of the Phoenix Library.
He has been a lecturer for Arizona State University Tax Institute, taught internal courses at Ernst & Young, and has lectured at a number of organizations, including the Annual National Meeting of Women in Accounting.
From June 1968 through June 1993, Ed worked for Ernst & Young International Accountants. During his last fourteen years with Ernst & Young he served as a partner, specializing in entrepreneurial tax and business consulting. Throughout his tenure with Ernst & Young, Ed worked in the audit, tax, and consulting divisions. He helped to build a small tax practice of approximately $250,000 gross billings into a tax practice of over $2,000,000 gross billings.
In 1993, Ed formed Villanueva & Company, P.C., a CPA firm specializing in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to closely-held businesses and to high net worth individuals.
In the years since its inception, Villanueva & Company has become recognized as an innovative, client service-oriented firm.
